The first Profad Care business started in 2015 with an ethos of providing the VERY BEST in care at home. Now, with more than 20 offices and over 250 employees across the UK, we still hold firm that ethos which is pivotal to our continued success.
For eight years, we’ve been enabling people to run highly rewarding businesses. We know what works and what doesn’t!
We have a tried and tested model that has been honed and adapted over the years to become the slick business model that we share with our owners today.
We understand our customer base. What is needed, what is wanted and what makes for a long-standing relationship.
We appreciate our staff and develop strong loyalty to aid in retention.
We have a strong Franchise Support team that employs experts who guide and support your franchising journey at every step of the way.
You benefit from the collective expertise of over 40 businesses across our network. Regular meetings and workshops are facilitated by the Franchise Support team where you can share ideas, challenges and solutions with your non-competing peers.
You have the support of Business Development, Quality and Marketing Managers who are dedicated to making your business a success. Each are experts in their field and are employed to support you and your business needs.
We have been consistently rated ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ in our CQC inspections. Starting a new business with such a recognised brand provides instant credibility.
Scalable business model meaning you can diversify into different care specialisms to further increase your product offering.
Care is a wonderful way of earning a living. As a franchise owner with Profad Care, you make it possible for thousands of people to remain safe and happy in their own home. You also provide employment for many in such a rewarding and worthwhile industry.
We provide bespoke service for each individual customer, designed to fit with their needs. No one person is the same and so no care package should be either. It’s this tailored approach that means our customers get the very best in high quality care and a personal service.
Our clients commend us on our care assistants, telling us that they are like additional family members and friends. Our people are what makes Profad Care a success. With that in mind, we look for genuine caring people with the right attitude and desire to care. Training can be given, but personalities are intrinsic and this is where we place our value.
Training and support is paramount to all involved with Profad Care. Our franchise owners, our care assistants, Support Centre staff and customers benefit from our award-winning training. We pride ourselves on equipping all team members within Profad Care with the knowledge, know-how and confidence to deliver care to the highest of standards.
Quality is at the forefront of our business. It has been since inception. Providing quality care is at the top of our agenda and will always remain that way. Our customers deserve the very best and we strive to train our staff to deliver just that. We conduct regular quality audits to ensure high standards are maintained across all Profad Care offices.
Our franchise owners manage and develop their businesses, ensuring that a caring and experienced team are recruited and highly trained, to deliver the highest standards of home care and support to their customers.
Our franchise owners come from a variety of backgrounds but with one common goal: the determination to develop a successful home care business and work to a proven business model. Profad Care franchise owners have the passion to provide the highest quality of home care and support in their territory, creating a rich diversity of expertise in the Profad Care franchise network. The Franchise Support Centre offers business support at your fingertips, with a dedicated business development manager and quality manager to help guide you along your way, therefore previous experience in the home care sector is not essential.
We follow a clear recruitment process when selecting franchise owners. Opportunities are given only to those people who demonstrate to us that they have the qualities and business ethos to build the very best businesses – Businesses that can provide the highest quality care at home and support to our customers, whilst maintaining Profad Care’s reputation as one of the leading brands in the provision of home care and support in the industry.
The Profad Care model has dedicated roles within the team including:
On top of this, Profad Care has a dedicated onboarding manager, who is with you from your initial start-up and throughout your first year in running the business to act as your mentor, sounding board and business coach – that extra helping hand to help find your premises, develop your business plan, employ your care manager, register with the relevant regulatory body, and much, much more!
We did a lot of research. It was obvious from the ageing population figures that there was a market opportunity in care. We looked at several care franchise companies but were really impressed on meeting with the directors of Profad Care and the whole decision to join the network just seemed right to us. We liked the business model, and the support that the company offered. Having sought care for a family member, we knew about the poor standards of care in the market and how important it is to offer great customer service.
We’re pleased to say that our business is thriving. The job satisfaction comes from knowing you are making a difference; putting a smile on customer’s faces and receiving some great feedback and notes from satisfied customers. We’re looking ahead to more success, building our customer base and growing the business.

Profad Care Edinburgh & Glasgow South
I spent the majority of my career in the Leisure Industry, abroad and in South London, prior to joining the Profad Care network. Having been in one particular job for 12 years I was looking for a new challenge.
There is no doubt that franchising was the way to go. All policies, procedures and marketing materials were already in place which enabled me to open our doors for business in a matter of months. There was, and continues to be, support available from the Franchise Support Centre in all aspects including Software Support, Human Resources, Finance and Marketing. We have a dedicated business development manager and quality manager who visits on a regular basis and a strong working relationship with the other Profad Care businesses locally, Holywood and Lisburn, and throughout the rest of the UK.
Franchising has changed my life, as running your own business would do anyway. I have learned so much about myself. I enjoy the flexibility of having my own business and the long weekend here and there.
I feel an enormous sense of satisfaction knowing that with my team we have such a positive impact on the lives of people who are unable for whatever reason to look after themselves.

Once a Profad Care business is established we would expect to see operating profits of 15%-20%.
Unlike many other domiciliary care franchisors, there are many proven opportunities to diversify the core business within the Profad care model. Home care providers often focus on older people and in doing so limit their potential to provide additional critical services to their market. Profad Care is inclusive in its capability to provide high quality home care services across numerous market segments. These include providing support to people with learning disabilities, delivering respite services for children and their family carers, supporting NHS Discharge Teams with the transition of their patients from hospital to home and assisting with the delivery of complex care.
In addition, there may be opportunities to purchase additional territories. Currently, most of our franchisees have more than one territory.
The break-even point of a Profad Care franchise business is currently averaging at month 10.
The price of the home care franchise package is £24,000 +VAT.
In addition to the franchise package fee start-up costs and working capital will need consideration. Typically the total investment is approximately £54,000.
When you are considering starting your own business, it can be daunting when the focus is on the financial investment required. This is where Profad Care can offer unrivalled support to get your business up and running.
“I was seeking a new opportunity to run my own business, and looked at the franchise market. I was particularly attracted to Profad Care for three reasons; the size of the UK care market, the strength of the Profad Care brand and the ability of their business model to be resilient in tough economic conditions. When I joined, I found the support and training offered by Profad Care to be very strong, particularly in the early days when all the care terminology plus policies and procedures can be new and slightly bewildering.
We’ve enjoyed considerable success since launching our business, and I would measure this on the size of our long standing customer base, the quality of our care staff and the strength of our office management team. I can honestly say that our time with Profad Care has been extremely busy, but very rewarding, and it’s allowed me to develop my own management skills significantly.”

“Before joining Profad Care, we were both working long hours, and doing lots of travelling, in large American owned companies. Whilst it was what we knew, we weren’t getting the fulfillment from our jobs that we really desired. In short, we were seeking a rewarding lifestyle change. We looked in other directions but felt that none of them offered us the compelling opportunity ‘to give something back’ that we believed we had with Profad Care. We now have a superior quality of life in terms of work/life balance and we are firmly focused on growing our service within our community in the months and years ahead. A decision we wish we had made sooner, for sure.
It is a privilege to be actively involved, on a day to day basis, in assisting people to live comfortably and happily in their own homes, and giving their families the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their loved ones are in the compassionate, caring hands of our dedicated care staff.”

From day one, we support our franchisees through the business planning process including financial projections. Our initial franchisee training provides the detail, knowledge and assurance to set up and run the business, as well as give an understanding to the Care sector in which we operate.
Franchisees begin their journey spending time at the Head Office with our support team, this is coupled with visits to an existing Profad Care business, gaining insight from a mentor franchisee.
